My Decade Box

Room fours topic at the moment is Decade & Time. At home we all went and found some sort of box. To Make mine a bit more creative and different I did paper mache all over the box. It looks really cool.
This Is how It Turned Out . . .

  1. Good Morning Rylee
I hope you are enjoying the challenge of collecting information and items to reflect you and your decade. I love that you have decorated your box, paper mache is a brilliant idea. Have you started adding to your collection yet?
I have been thinking about items I will add to my decade box too. I wish I still had my old rara skirt, my favourite piece of clothing back when I was your age! I will definitely be adding an image of Bruce Springstein...he was my all time favourite singer back in the 80's.
Have you ever heard of him or his music?
Who is your favourite singer Rylee?

  2. Hi Mrs Bennett,
Yes I have added a few things to my decade box. It is very interesting to hear about what you really liked as a child. No I have not heard of Bruce Springstein.
I don't really have a favourite singer but I like some of Dua Lip and Ant Saunders music there is plenty others but these ones just came to mind first.
    Thank you

  3. Hi Rylee
Isn't that funny...you havn't heard of Bruce Springstein and I havn't heard of Dua Lip and Ant Saunders. That is a real reflection of the changing times! II feel as I get older I lose touch of modern music and bands as I still listen to my old favourites.
I'm sure if you asked your Mum, she would remember Bruce Springstein too.
Keep up the neat work Rylee

    1. Hi Mrs Bennett,
That is funny how we havn't heard of each others music. I asked my mum is she remembers Bruce Springstein and she said "Yes I used to listen to his music."
      Thank you

  4. Hi Rylee, I love the idea of the papier mache on your box. I have done it before to decorate cans and planter pots for Ag Day at school, but it was called decoupage. What language do you think that is? If I was making a decade box, I would choose the 60's. The Beatles and my cookie dress spring to mind. How many things have you put in your box so far?

    1. Hi Mrs Shaw,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. Did you enjoy doing paper mache on the cans, planters and pots? I know I enjoyed doing paper mache on my decade box. So far I have put about 5 or 6 things in my box. There is 1 thing from my Dad and the others just mean something to me.
      Thank you

  7. Hi Rylee,

The first thing that springs to my mind when I was Kylie Minogue. Its funny how the years slip by with out thinking much has changed but gosh when we look back a whole lot has changed - especially technology!!
