Outside at Matawai School Room 1 planted some sunflowers and they inspired room 4 to do a sketch and paint them. They were tall and healthy looking sunflowers. The bees were surrounding them.
Kia ora, I am a year 8 student in Room 4 at Matawai School in Gisborne, New Zealand and my teachers are Mrs Bennett and Mrs Allan.

Weet- bix Tryathlon
People were cheering on their kids from the sideline while me and Jessica were waiting patiently with excitement, the nerves were kicking in even though we were the last group. We lined up like brave soldiers. (even though it was only a Weet-bix Tryathlon not war) before we knew it these words came out of a man's mouth . . . ON YOUR MARKS GET SET GO!! So a group of 11 year old girls sprinted into the pool. The bright light beaming on us.
We ran out ripping our cap off. I threw it to Jessica's auntie running to the bikes searching for my bike. I found it wandering out to the road so I could jump on and take off. There were many people cheering for me. The 1st lap was done for the 2nd lap I sighed. Jessica and I put our arms together and made a bridge and the people took a photo. We were getting close to the Olympic pools. We jumped off our bike and put it away as we started to sprint to the finish.
We grabbed a drink of water on the way to the finish then threw it onto the ground. Heading towards the finish line people were cheering and yelling. COME ON YOU CAN DO IT! We carried on and strived for the end. Crossing the finish line felt like a relief, getting the medal made me feel I did really well.

KO WAI AHAU? | ABOUT ME
Kia ora I’m Rylee, I go to Matawai School and I am a year 7. I live in a country with my Mum, Step Dad and little Brother. I also live about 15 minutes from Matawai.
I love to play soccer and cricket out on the farm. Coming to school every day is great. I do so much fun stuff and have a good amount of friends to play and talk with. Reading is one of my favorite subjects. I have 2 favorite authors: David Willams and Roald Dahl. My goal for 2020 is doing better at math.
My best friend lives in town and we don’t get to see each other as much anymore. I made some friends the first day at Matawai School 3 years ago. I’m looking forward to the start of 2020.

Facts About Koalas
We started writing facts that we know about Koalas in our reading book, then we jumped onto a device and started to research more on them and grow our knowledge bigger. Some of room 4 started to make posters on a google drawing. I finished mine last night and this is the final result . . .
